Do It Yourself (DIY) Weddings Bulk Specialty Blooms by the Bunch
From May through October, Wind Haven Farm sells our sustainably grown seasonal blooms by the bunch for weddings and events. The bunches include a mixture of lush blooms, textural elements, and foliages that are seasonally available at that time, and specified by the varieties you choose.
Some things to consider when choosing the DIY option:
This can be a very budget friendly option.
DIY can be FUN!
Make sure you have enough time and volunteers to help you create your arrangements. Time can run short the week before a wedding, and flowers need to be arranged the day before or the day of the event to look their best.
Figure out a space where you will be able to arrange the flowers, this is sometimes messy work. The flowers will need to be kept in water both before arranging and after. Also flowers should be kept in an air conditioned indoor space until right before the event begins.
Have the right tools on hand, clippers, ribbon, clean vases/vessels, floral tape, floral wire.
Have a plan to transport arrangements if they are made offsite. Heavy boxes with newspaper to wedge in vases works great.
We do not offer delivery on bulk DIY flowers, so you will need to arrange to pick up your order 1-2 days before your event. Normally this is a Thursday or Friday.
You will need to provide your own very clean buckets to pick up your order.
All of our flowers are sold in bunches of ten stems. The prices per bunch range between $1-28 per bunch, most people end up spending between $400-600 on this wedding option.
Our minimum order is $100.
We do not make specific flower guarantees. We are beholden to Mother Nature about what flowers thrive in any specific time. So this option ideally suits brides that are more flexible with their vision.

Please keep in mind, that in order to offer this option for weddings we need to keep our extra labor to a minimum and we do not offer design consultation or input on how much you should order. This will need to be figured out by you in advance of your final order.
Flower Calculations ( these are just suggestions from our experience):
Bridal Bouquets= 75 stems
Bridesmaids Bouquets= 35-40 stems
Centerpieces= 10-25 stems for a vase with a 2.5" opening. More if the vase has a wider opening. 4x4 square vase= 25-30 stems, 6x6 square vase= 30-40 stems, 8x8 square vase= 45-55 stems
Bud Vases= 3-5 stems each
***Keep in mind that in most cases you should order 1/3 foliages, 1/3 focals, 1/3 smaller blooms.***

Please fill out the DIY Wedding Form Below and send it to us.
We will confirm that our DIY service is available for your date.
We will email you a list of what flowers are typically available in the month of your wedding or event, with pricing per bunch of ten stems. You can type on the word document the number of bunches you would ideally like of which varieties and email it back to us. This becomes your DIY order. If we get closer to the date and we find we had a crop failure of one of the flowers you were interested in, we will let you know and offer up some substitutes that can help you achieve a similar look.
After confirmation, we will ask for a $50 to hold your date. The remaining balance will be due when you pick up your flowers at the Wind Haven Farm studio. We only accept cash and checks payable to Wind Haven Farm.
